| Taipei 101 Observatory
Taipei 101 stands in the bustling Xinyi District and is a must-visit landmark for travelers coming to Taiwan. The Observatory is located on the 89th floor, and taking in the view of Taipei from above has become an essential experience for visitors.
After purchasing an admission ticket at the ticket counter, guests can have a commemorative photo taken in the queuing area before boarding the Guinness World Record-holding fastest constant-pressure elevator straight up to the 89th-floor Observatory. The Observatory's two dedicated ultra-high-speed elevators travel at 1,010 meters per minute, reaching the 89th floor in just 37 seconds.
Once you arrive at the Observatory, 382 meters above ground level, a superb 360-degree panorama opens up before you. On clear days, the buildings of the city below — large and small alike — look like charming miniature models, cradled by the gently rolling green hills that surround them, leaving visitors marveling at the beauty and allure of Taipei.
Beyond the ultra-high-speed elevators, the tower also houses the world's largest and heaviest wind damper, measuring 5.5 meters in diameter and weighing 660 metric tons — and the only one of its kind on public display.
Welded together from 41 layers of steel plate 12.5 centimeters thick and suspended from the 92nd floor down to the 87th, it is one of the key structures protecting Taipei 101 against wind and earthquakes. Visitors can get a close look at this remarkable damping system during their visit.
The Observatory also offers a range of other facilities, including ultra-high-magnification telescopes, a commemorative photo service, a beverage bar, a souvenir shop and the world's highest postbox. All of these thoughtful touches are designed to give guests an unforgettable experience.
After completing your order, go to "Redeem" in the Member Center and locate the redemption code beginning with "APP-RSV-" (the code can also be found in your payment confirmation email). Booking Instructions
- Please select an attraction product and add a THSR ticket to enjoy the THSR package discount. Actual discount rates are subject to the selected train service.
- The opening time for ticket reservations is subject to the announcements of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation. Current regulations allow bookings from 29 days prior to the date of travel (inclusive) up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train. Every Friday and Saturday, tickets can be reserved up to the Sunday four weeks later (reservations will open earlier for specific holidays; please refer to the THSR Corporate Website Info).
- If passengers need to cancel their itinerary, the attraction products and THSR train tickets must be refunded and canceled together; individual cancellation of either item is strictly prohibited.
Ticket Types and Discounts
- Adult Ticket: Purchase any designated attraction product to enjoy discounted fares on THSR Standard Class and Business Class reserved seats. Actual discount rates are subject to the selected train service.
- Concession Ticket: Those who qualify for Senior, Concession, or Child status can enjoy a 50% discount on the full fare. The applicable ticket types and available add-on car classes are all handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation. Concession tickets (Child/Senior/Concession) can be purchased individually without being paired with attraction products.
Restrictions and Limitations
- Train Number, Time Slot, and Seating: Subject to the display on this platform's system. Seats are automatically allocated by the system; no seat selection feature is provided, and adjacent seating is not guaranteed.
- Route Segment Restrictions: Either the origin or destination station must be a station located in the area of the tour itinerary. Business Car tickets are not available for the Nangang–Taipei, Nangang–Banqiao, and Taipei–Banqiao segments.
