The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway has a total length of approximately 1,877.15 meters, crossing Mount Fuji at an altitude of 1,044 meters. The round-trip journey takes about 16 minutes, allowing you to easily travel around Sun Moon Lake and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Booking Instructions

  • Please select an attraction product and add a THSR ticket to enjoy the THSR package discount. Actual discount rates are subject to the selected train service.
  • The opening time for ticket reservations is subject to the announcements of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation. Current regulations allow bookings from 29 days prior to the date of travel (inclusive) up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train. Every Friday and Saturday, tickets can be reserved up to the Sunday four weeks later (reservations will open earlier for specific holidays; please refer to the THSR Corporate Website Info).
  • If passengers need to cancel their itinerary, the attraction products and THSR train tickets must be refunded and canceled together; individual cancellation of either item is strictly prohibited.

Ticket Types and Discounts

  • Adult Ticket: Purchase any designated attraction product to enjoy discounted fares on THSR Standard Class and Business Class reserved seats. Actual discount rates are subject to the selected train service.
  • Concession Ticket: Those who qualify for Senior, Concession, or Child status can enjoy a 50% discount on the full fare. The applicable ticket types and available add-on car classes are all handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation. Concession tickets (Child/Senior/Concession) can be purchased individually without being paired with attraction products.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • Train Number, Time Slot, and Seating: Subject to the display on this platform's system. Seats are automatically allocated by the system; no seat selection feature is provided, and adjacent seating is not guaranteed.
  • Route Segment Restrictions: Either the origin or destination station must be a station located in the area of the tour itinerary. Business Car tickets are not available for the Nangang–Taipei, Nangang–Banqiao, and Taipei–Banqiao segments.

※Note: Please read through the "Public Statement on the Personal Data Protection Act for the THSR Add-on Deal Project" in detail. Once you complete the THSR Add-on Deal booking, it indicates that you have read and agreed to the statement.

  1. This is an electronic ticket (QR Code); no physical tickets will be sent separately.
  2. After payment is completed, please check your email for the [Payment Success Notification]. Use the QR Code attached to the email for verification. Alternatively, go to the website's [Member Center] → [My Orders] → [Paid] tab → click [View] to access the QR Code for verification.
  3. Present the electronic voucher (QR Code) at the verification point to exchange with staff or scan it at the kiosk for use.

| How to Collect HSR Train Tickets:

  • Ticket Type: One-way tickets will receive one Voucher Number (Booking Reference); round-trip tickets will receive two Voucher Numbers (Outbound/Inbound).
  • Please take your HSR Booking Reference and the ID Number of the person collecting the ticket (used at the time of booking) to HSR station ticket windows, automatic ticket machines, or convenience stores (an additional service fee of NT$10 per ticket, NT$20 for round-trip, applies). You may also use the HSR T-EX Mobile Ticketing App.

※ Note 1: For detailed mobile ticketing information and precautions regarding Senior/Disabled tickets and ticket splitting functions, please refer to the "Ticket Collection Guide" in the T-EX App. Passengers purchasing concession tickets must have valid ID ready for inspection during booking, collection, and boarding.
※ Note 2: Tickets collected via the T-EX App must be handled at an HSR station ticket window if changes or refunds are required.

 

| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway (Ita Thao)

  • Boarding Location: No. 102, Zhongzheng Rd., Yuchi Township, Nantou County
  • Entry Instructions: Present your electronic voucher (QR Code) at the self-service ticket machine at the 2F service desk of Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station for verification and exchange for a physical ticket. Then, take the physical ticket to the 3F boarding platform gate and scan the QR Code for entry.

HSR Ticket Changes

  • Tickets Not Yet Collected: The travel time and date cannot be changed online. If you need to make changes, please cancel the original order and rebook.
  • Tickets Already Collected (including T-EX collection): Once tickets have been collected, changes or cancellations cannot be processed through this platform. You must bring your ticket to an HSR station ticket window at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure to process a change or refund. Each ticket is "limited to one change for a train on the same day only."
  • In the case of a refund, the ticket fare will be returned in cash after deducting a service fee. Please be mindful of your travel time and complete ticket collection in advance. Refunds will not be accepted if you are unable to board the reserved train due to late ticket collection.

| HSR Ticket Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancelling the itinerary requires the simultaneous refund of the HSR discounted tickets; they cannot be retained separately. If the discounted tickets are used independently in violation of the project regulations, THSRC reserves the right to recover the discount difference.
  • Tickets Not Yet Collected:
    • a. Cancellations made at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time on the day of travel will incur a 0% handling fee on the HSR ticket price.
    • b. Cancellations made within 30 minutes of the scheduled departure time will incur a 100% handling fee on the HSR ticket price.
  • Tickets Already Collected (including T-EX collection):
    • a. Please bring the ticket to an HSR station ticket window or the original convenience store branch where it was collected at least 30 minutes before departure to process a refund. The fare will be refunded in cash after deducting service fees.
    • b. Obtain a refund certificate and provide it to this platform's customer service staff to proceed with the itinerary cancellation.
  • Typhoon-Related Refund Regulations:
    • a. From the date a Sea Typhoon Warning is issued until it is lifted, passengers may process a refund at any station ticket window within one year of the travel date. After staff confirm the ticket is unused, the actual fare paid will be refunded without a handling fee.
    • b. If processing a refund at a convenience store at least 30 minutes before departure, the "HSR refund handling fee" may be waived, but the "convenience store service fee" will still be charged according to each provider's rules.
    • c. Handling fees from the original purchase or collection are non-refundable.

※ Note 1: HSR tickets and attraction itineraries must be cancelled or modified together. If any ticket has been used or the departure time has passed without cancellation, no refund will be given, and partial refunds (e.g., refunding only one person in a party of two) are not permitted.
※ Note 2: Changes to reserved discounted trains are limited to other applicable designated trains or seats on the same day only once. If you wish to change the date, route, cabin class, or status, or if the change does not meet the "applicable designated train" criteria, the original discount will no longer apply. For change or refund needs, please follow the ticket status procedures above.
※ Note 3: Reserved discounted trains are only valid for the date and train number indicated on the ticket. Those who board other trains with a discounted ticket will lose the original discount. If discovered without proactive fare adjustment, the passenger must pay the full fare difference plus a penalty of 50% of the fare for the traveled segment.

| Attraction Change and Cancellation Instructions:

  • The date of use for attractions cannot be changed online. If a change is needed, please cancel the original order and rebook. The refund standard for each attraction follows its respective refund policy, and customer service will assist in accordance with regulations.
  • Attraction tickets must be refunded together with the HSR tickets and cannot be retained separately. If HSR tickets have been collected, please process the refund at an HSR station or the original collection channel at least 30 minutes before departure, obtain proof, and then apply via [Member Center] → [My Orders] → [I want a refund].

| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

  • Operating hours may be extended for major events (such as the Cherry Blossom Festival). Operating hours may also be adjusted due to weather conditions, power outages, or system maintenance.
  • The first Wednesday of every month is the maintenance day for the ropeway and is closed to the public. If there is a need for annual major maintenance, additional closure dates will be announced. 【Click here to view】
  • Any changes to operating hours will be based on on-site notices or announcements on the 【Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Official Website】.

  • Once any product or gift in the package has been redeemed or used, no returns or refunds will be accepted.
  • Please be sure to check the operating hours of the redemption stores. If redemption is unavailable during a specific period, please redeem during other normal operating hours within the validity period.
  • This ticket is limited to one person per ticket. Each electronic ticket can only be used once and cannot be reused after verification and entry.
  • In the event of force majeure (including but not limited to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and heavy rain), the organizer may postpone or cancel the activity for public safety, with prior notice and contact.
