| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway spans approximately 1,877.15 meters and crosses Buji Mountain at an altitude of 1,044 meters. The round trip takes about 16 minutes, allowing you to leisurely tour Sun Moon Lake and overlook the 360-degree lake and mountain scenery. If the humidity is high, you might even see a dreamy, fairyland-like misty landscape. Guaranteed to offer a feast for your eyes, it is an unmissable way to tour Sun Moon Lake.

Ordering Instructions

  • Please select the attraction product first and then add the THSR ticket to enjoy a 15% discount on Standard and Business Car reserved seats.
  • Ticket availability follows Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation announcements. Currently, bookings open from 29 days prior to the travel date (inclusive) up to 60 minutes before departure. On Fridays and Saturdays, bookings can be made up to four weeks later for Sunday tickets (bookings may open earlier for specific holidays; please refer to the THSR Corporate Website).
  • If travelers need to cancel the itinerary, both the attraction package and the THSR ticket must be cancelled together; separate cancellation of either item is not permitted.

Ticket Types and Discounts

  • Adult Ticket: Purchase designated attraction products to enjoy a 15% discount on the full price of THSR Standard and Business Car reserved seats.
  • Concession Ticket: Seniors, persons with disabilities, and children are eligible for a 50% discount on the full price. Ticket types and add-on carriage classes follow Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation regulations. Concession tickets (Child/Senior/Disabled) can be purchased separately without the attraction product.

Restrictions

  • Train Number, Time, Seat: As displayed on this platform system. Seats are automatically assigned by the system; seat selection is not available, and adjacent seats are not guaranteed.
  • Route Restrictions: One of the start or end stations must be the station in the region of the itinerary. Business Car tickets are not available for Nankang-Taipei, Nankang-Banqiao, and Taipei-Banqiao sections.

  1. This is an electronic ticket (QR Code); no physical paper tickets will be mailed.
  2. After payment is complete, please check your email for the "Payment Success Notification." Use the QR Code attached in the email for redemption; or go to the website's 【Member Center】 → 【My Orders】 → 【Paid】 tab → click 【View】 to access the QR Code for redemption.
  3. Present the electronic voucher (QR Code) at the redemption point for staff to exchange or scan it at the machine for use.

| THSR Ticket Collection Method:

  • Ticket Type: For a one-way ticket, you will receive 1 Reservation Number; for a round-trip ticket, you will receive 2 Reservation Numbers (Outbound/Return).
  • Please take your THSR Reservation Number and the ID number used for booking to a THSR station ticket window, automatic ticket vending machine, convenience store (a handling fee of NT$10 per ticket applies; NT$20 for round-trip), or use the T-EX Mobile App to collect your ticket.

※Note 1: For details on collecting Concession Tickets (Senior/Disabled), split-ticket functions, and other mobile ticketing instructions, please refer to the T-EX App's "Ticket Collection Instructions". Travelers purchasing concession tickets must present valid identification documents during booking, collection, and boarding for verification.
※Note 2: For tickets in this package collected via the T-EX App, any changes or cancellations must be handled at a THSR station ticket window.

 

| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway:

  • Boarding Address: No. 102, Zhongzheng Rd., Yuchi Township, Nantou County
  • Entry Instructions: Please present your electronic voucher (QR Code) at the Self-Service Ticket Kiosk at the Service Desk on the 2F of the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station to redeem a physical ticket. Then, present the physical ticket at the 3F boarding platform gate to scan the QR Code for entry.

 

 

| THSR Ticket Changes

  • Not yet collected: THSR travel dates and times cannot be changed online. If you need to make changes, please cancel the original order and re-book.
  • Collected (including T-EX mobile tickets): Once tickets are collected, changes or cancellations cannot be made on this platform. Please present your ticket at a THSR station ticket window at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time to make changes or request a refund. Each ticket is limited to "one change to a train on the same day."
  • If requesting a refund, the amount will be refunded in cash after deducting the handling fee. Please be sure to note your travel time and collect your tickets in advance. Refunds will not be accepted if you miss the reserved train due to failure to collect tickets in time.

| THSR Ticket Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancellation of the itinerary requires the simultaneous refund of the discounted THSR ticket; they cannot be retained separately. If the discounted ticket is used separately in violation of the project rules, the THSR Corporation reserves the right to recover the discount difference.
  • Not yet collected:
    • a. Cancellation made 30 minutes "before" the scheduled departure time: 0% handling fee on the THSR ticket price.
    • b. Cancellation made "within" 30 minutes of the scheduled departure time: 100% handling fee on the THSR ticket price.
  • Collected (including T-EX mobile tickets):
    • a. Please present the ticket at a THSR station ticket window or the original convenience store where it was collected for a refund at least 30 minutes before departure. The refund will be returned in cash after deducting the handling fee.
    • b. Obtain proof of refund and provide it to our customer service staff to process the itinerary cancellation.
  • Typhoon Refund Regulations:
    • a. From the date a Sea Typhoon Warning is issued until it is lifted, passengers may request a refund at any station ticket window within 1 year from the travel date. A full refund without handling fees will be issued after station staff confirm the ticket is unused.
    • b. If you request a refund at a convenience store 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, the "THSR refund handling fee" is waived, but the "convenience store service fee" will still be charged according to the operator's regulations.
    • c. Original booking or collection handling fees are non-refundable.

※Note 1: THSR tickets and attraction itineraries must be cancelled or changed together. If any ticket has been used or if the cancellation is not made before the departure time, no refund will be given. Partial cancellations (e.g., cancelling one person from a two-person trip) are not permitted.
※Note 2: Changes to orders for designated discounted trains are limited to one change to another applicable designated train or seat on the same day. If you wish to change the date, route, car class, or identity, or change to a train that does not qualify as an "applicable designated train," the original discount will not apply. For changes or refunds, please proceed according to the ticket status mentioned above.
※Note 3: Orders for designated discounted trains are valid only for the specific date and train designated on the ticket. Passengers holding a designated discounted ticket who take a different train without authorization will not be eligible for the original discount. If caught without voluntarily paying the fare difference, in addition to paying the full fare difference, a penalty of 50% of the fare difference for the traveled section will be charged.

| Attraction Changes and Cancellation Instructions:

  • Attraction visit dates cannot be changed online. If you need to make changes, please cancel the original order and re-book. Refund standards for each attraction itinerary follow their specific refund policies; customer service will assist according to regulations.
  • Attraction tickets must be cancelled together with THSR tickets and cannot be retained separately. If the THSR ticket has already been collected, please process the refund at a THSR station or the original collection channel 30 minutes before departure, obtain proof of refund, and then apply via 【Member Center】 → 【My Orders】 → 【Request Refund】.

| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

  • Operation hours may be extended for large-scale events (such as the Cherry Blossom Festival). Hours may also be adjusted due to weather factors, power outages, system maintenance, etc.
  • The first Wednesday of every month is a maintenance day, and the ropeway is closed to the public. Additional suspension dates due to annual major maintenance will be announced. 【Click here to view】
  • Any changes to operation hours will be based on on-site announcements or the 【Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Official Website】.   

 

  • Once any item or gift in the combo ticket has been redeemed or used, no returns or refunds will be accepted.
  • Please be sure to note the business hours of the redemption location. If redemption is not possible during a specific time, please redeem it during other normal business hours within the validity period.
  • This ticket is limited to one person per ticket. Each electronic ticket can only be used once and cannot be reused after verification for entry.
  • In the event of force majeure (including but not limited to typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, and other natural disasters), the organizer may postpone or cancel the event for public safety. Announcements and contacts will be made in advance. The organizer reserves the right to modify, terminate, or change details of the event content for any matters not covered herein.

| Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

  • The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway ticket is valid for one round trip on the same day only.
  • This ticket is for the ropeway ride only and does not include admission to Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village.
  • Passengers must enter and board at the Ita Thao Sun Moon Lake Main Station; entry from the Formosa Station is not permitted.
  • This ticket is a Full Ticket (Adult). For other ticket types, please purchase on-site. 【Ticket Price List】
  • The Sun Moon Lake area often experiences seasonal thunderstorms. For visitor safety, the facility will suspend operations if there is a risk of lightning strikes. We recommend checking the 【Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Official Website】 or calling to confirm operation status before visiting. Bicycles, un-caged pets, or other large/sharp hazardous items are prohibited (guide dogs excepted).
  • Smoking, eating, drinking, chewing gum, and betel nuts are prohibited inside the cabins.
